i was never a disney kid

It's true.  if i've even seen a disney movie it was probably by accident.  and the old ones like 'pinnochio' and "snow white and the seven dwarves" don't really count.  i'm talking the ones with soundtracks by elton john and phil collins, and voice overs done by robin williams, demi moore and nathan lane.  i have nothing against these films.  i also have nothing in favor these films.

sidenote:  all things being equal i prefer my elton john to be dressed in a donald duck costume, coked out of his mind, and sitting behind an antique white piano. ahh yes, here we are: boom!

growing up i saw a lot of tim burton movies: peewee's big adventure, beetlejuice, nightmare before christmas.  there was back to the future, the secret of NIMH, dick tracy (with warren beatty and madonna?!  how often does that happen?), airplane, ET, star wars and indiana jones and things that had a little bit of grit to them.  not much, but a little.  even in ET, elliot called his brother 'penis-breath' which has it's own subtle implications if you can dig the vernacular.

my parents tried to take my brothers and i to see fantasia when they re-released it in the early nineties.  it was sold out, so you know what we saw instead?  robin hood: prince of thieves!  you know, the one that has the opening scene where the prisoners of war are having their hands cut off in the jerusalem prison?  my brother and i actually watched that movie the other day.  man i love that movie. mancrush on alan rickman...swoon....
